We are excited to announce two upcoming SSYO events this season. Musicians who are interested in joining SSYO are invited to register for auditions using the first link below. Current SSYO members who wish to participate in the internal concerto competition can register using the second link. Please visit the appropriate link to complete and submit the registration form.

Concerts

Every season, we host three in-house concerts, participate in the Cathedral Village Art Festival, and perform in an RSO concert. When we travel overseas, we collaborate with destination youth orchestras for joint performances.

Music tours

The SSYO travels as part of its orchestral experience. Our travel opportunities offer young musicians the chance to perform nationally and internationally, providing exposure to diverse cultural contexts and the experience of performing alongside fellow young musicians on global stages.

National

The SSYO has participated in numerous music festivals and events across Canada. Our travels have taken us to Vancouver, Toronto, and Alberta, where we performed and collaborated with young musicians from across the country.

International

The SSYO has also ventured internationally, visiting destinations like Europe, China, Japan, and South America. During these trips, our musicians collaborate with local orchestras, hold workshops, and perform. Traveling with chaperones not only fosters cultural appreciation but also strengthens friendships, boosts team spirit, and enhances musical growth on a global scale.
