Director's Message

Auditions must be submitted by September 15, 2020

On behalf of Music Directors, Alan Denike and Rudy Sternadel, the SSYO Board of Directors would like to welcome back returning musicians and congratulate new members on successfully auditioning to become members of the SSYO.  Congratulations to All on your success auditions!  We want to extend a warm welcome to our new members and their families.  We look forward to meeting each of you!

For those receiving this email, who intended to but have not yet auditioned, auditions will be received until September 15.  Please refer to for instructions to upload your audition, or contact Rudy Sternadel at, if you have any difficulties.

The 2020-21 season will be an unprecedented season in the 43 year history of the SSYO. We want you to know that your music directors and board have been working together over the summer to create a covid-19 protocol.  All of our discussions have centred around the safety and health of our musicians, music directors and volunteers.  In addition to following Saskatchewan Public Health directives and researching Canadian youth and professional orchestra responses to covid-19, we are working with Knox-Metropolitan Church on specific protocols and anticipate a start to the season in October.  We will send you a draft protocol in the near future.  We look forward to hearing your comments on it and any suggestions you may have.  We value your feedback.

If you have questions or feedback at any time, please get in touch me, or you can email the board at:  We welcome hearing from you.

Lastly, please reply to the email to let me know you have received it, as we need to be sure we have your correct email address.  If you prefer a different email address, or if you are receiving this email in error, please let me know.  Communication is imperative for a successful orchestral season, especially during this unprecedented and evolving season. Thank you, All!
